Islamic finance, how it's calculated.
The landing page keeps this short on purpose. This is the longer answer for zakat and halal screening — what Senjab tracks, and what it deliberately leaves to you.
How your zakat is calculated
Senjab tracks nisab — 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver, whichever threshold your held value crosses — against your real balances, and follows your hawl, the lunar year a holding must clear before zakat is due on it. Dates run on the Umm al-Qura calendar, and your zakat day is kept the way you set it. The method behind the number is named on screen, and it's yours to change.
This is a calculation you configure, with its method named — not a religious ruling. For your own situation, ask a qualified scholar.
How screening worksBeta
Every screened stock carries a verdict, with the standard behind it named alongside the date it was last checked. A stock nobody has screened yet reads “not screened” — never “non-compliant”: absence of a verdict is not itself a verdict. Where two standards disagree, Senjab shows the disagreement rather than picking a winner silently. Dividend purification — the portion of a payout that should be given away — is calculated for every holding that needs it.
